Remarks
Unless
otherwise instructed, join the circuit by
over-flying the aerodrome at 2000ft aal, descend to
circuit height on the dead side of the runway in
use and join the circuit by crossing the upwind
end. More than one runway may be in use at any one
time. Runway 03/21 will always be preferred subject
to operational limitations. Aircraft departing
Runway 21 should avoid over-flying as much of the
built-up area to the South as practical. Noise
abatement techniques should be practiced at all
times. All circuits left hand: fixed wing at 1100
feet aal, helicopters at 600 feet aal.
Training:
Touch and go training is not permitted on Sundays
or before 10.00 and after 18.00 local time Monday
to Saturday. Runway 13/31 is not available for
'touch and go' landing. Visiting aircraft may not
carry out touch and go training. Only runway 03/31
may be used for practice engine failures after
take-off. Use of NDB or VDF for training by
arrangement with ATC and subject to IFR and
scheduled movements.
Parking:
Visiting aircraft are to park on the grass
parking area to the East of TWR/Terminal unless
otherwise instructed by ATC.
Helicopter
Operations: Extensive helicopter training takes
place in area West of Runway 03/21 (W) alongside
Eastern perimeter fence (E) and N of VDF airial
(X). An additional area (N) is used for sloping
ground training.
Radio
Failure Procedures: Join overhead the airfield
and fit into the traffic pattern, overfly the
runway in use at 500 feet aal before positioning
for landing. Standard light signals should be
followed.
