LEARNING
TO FLY...
Most
people have, at some time or other, wondered what
it must be like to fly a light aircraft. You are
about to embark on an adventure that has been a
wonder of man since the dawn of time. At a Flight
Centre, you can be taken from your first fledgling
flight to becoming a confident Private Pilot
Licence holder.
Our
Flight Centres are run by a team of aviation
professionals who are highly experienced in the
field of flight training with the most varied fleet
on the field, ranging from the smaller
single-engine 2 place Piper Super Cub, 4 place
Grumman Travellor, Tiger and Piper Warriors all the
way through to the larger twin-engine aircraft.
Generally students start training for their PPL in
either the Grumman or the Piper Warrior. Both of
these types of aircraft are superb trainers with
sound handling characteristics. It is entirely up
to you which aircraft you will do the course in.
Completing
your PPL on one aircraft does not limit you to fly
that aircraft forever more. A few hours of
'conversion check out' with a club instructor will
entitle you to fly other aircraft which fall within
your license privileges, (in this case, 'Single
Engine (Piston) Land - more of this later!)
In
addition to the actual fleet, facilities include a
warm and friendly clubhouses, teams of
professionals and dedicated Instructors, numerous
briefing/planning rooms, flight simulators for
instrument training and often a private restaurant
and bar for club members and their families and
friends.
